Kisspeptin is a laboratory-synthesized decapeptide modeled after the naturally occurring kisspeptin protein, which is essential for regulating the reproductive system. In research settings, it is widely used to study hormone signaling pathways, gene regulation, and neuroendocrine interactions. Because of its strong affinity for the GPR54 receptor, Kisspeptin is especially useful for in vitro studies involving reproductive biology, puberty initiation, and hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis function. It is also investigated for its possible roles in cell migration and tumor suppression mechanisms.
